What shape is associated with Class K extinguishers?

Red Square

Black Hexagon

Extinguishing-class pictographs on labels use distinct shapes to identify what fires they can tackle. For Class K, which covers cooking-oil and fat fires in commercial kitchens, the symbol is a black hexagon. This shape, plus the dark color, helps responders quickly recognize the appropriate extinguisher in a busy kitchen. Other classes use different shapes and colors (for example, a green triangle for ordinary combustibles, a red square for flammable liquids). A yellow star isn’t part of the standard labeling. So the black hexagon best represents Class K.
